Invitation to Senator Roy Blunt

Indivisible Groups throughout Missouri have invited Senator Roy Blunt to attend a Street Town Hall on Saturday, February 25th from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM on John Q. Hammonds Pkwy in front of the University Plaza Hotel, directly before he is scheduled to speak at the Lincoln Day Breakfast.

Senator Blunt has not scheduled a town hall meeting in Missouri during the President’s Day recess, denying his constituents the ability to voice their concerns on issues currently at play in Washington D.C., including the undermining of environmental protections, the federal funding of an ineffective border wall, the targeted bans on specific faiths and refugees from entering our country, the defunding of Planned Parenthood, and the repealing of the Affordable
Care Act.

To this end, Springfield Indivisible has delivered an invitation to Senator Blunt’s Springfield office on the afternoon of Feb 22nd. At this time Senator Blunt has not responded to our request to attend the Street Town Hall.

Members of Missouri Indivisible groups, local organizations, as well as community members, will gather at 6:30 AM in front of University Plaza Hotel in hopes of meeting with Senator Blunt between and 7:30 AM.

Senator Blunt:

Springfield Indivisible and its supporters would like to invite you to attend our Street Town Hall on Saturday, February 25th from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM on John Q. Hammonds Pkwy in front of the University Plaza Hotel. As your constituents, we are deeply concerned about many of the policies being enacted in Washington D.C., including the undermining of environmental protections, the federal funding of an ineffective border wall, the targeted bans on specific faiths and refugees from entering our country, the defunding of Planned Parenthood, and the repealing of the Affordable Care Act. These dangerous, and even disastrous, policies have direct impacts on the people in this state, no matter their beliefs or party affiliations.

We realize that you have a busy schedule and may find it difficult to organize a town hall for your constituents to attend. Therefore, we have taken it upon ourselves to find a time that is convenient for you. This Saturday morning your constituents from around the state will meet outside of the University Plaza Hotel, so that they may speak to you in person. We kindly request that you join us at 7:00 AM for a brief question and answer session before your 7:30 AM breakfast at Lincoln Days.

We thank you for your time and sincerely hope that you will join us to hear our concerns. If you would like to schedule a town hall for another time, please feel free to contact us at springfieldindivisible@gmail.com.

Respectfully submitted,
