URGENT! TRUMP IN SPRINGFIELD – WEDNESDAY AUGUST 30
Trump is planning to kick off his tax overhaul campaign in Springfield on Wednesday, August 30th, He will be greeted with the People’s Protest
Time: 11:30 AM till 3:00 PM
Location to Meet Up: Teamsters Hall, on 1850 E. Division
DETAILS FOR WEDNESDAY (SHARE THIS WIDELY): We will begin gathering for the People’s Protest at the Teamsters Hall, on 1850 E. Division Springfield, Missouri, 65803. We will fill the sidewalks on Glenstone from Division north to Commercial to create the People's Protest Zone. Inside the People's Protest Zone we will have peace keepers, legal observers, and medics.
BRING: Sunscreen, water, cell phone chargers, your signs (especially signs with the words "we the people" or "the people say")
BUDDY UP: We encourage the buddy system; groups of 3 are especially effective. Keep track of your buddies. If you are provoked, do not engage. Lock arms with your buddies and sing (singing diffuses tension and locking arms shows that you aren't engaging in physical contact). Take photos of anything that seems off or suspicious and email them to NotRightTrump@yahoo.com or use the ACLU's MO Justice cell phone app.
If you have special medical concerns, it's a good idea to write that information on your arm so it's visible to medics.
Take care of each other, and remember that our side believes in community and in responsibility to our fellow citizens. Not engaging with the other side is an affirmative action policy; people of color in our community are going to be more adversely impacted by any aggression than white members of the community. We're here to protest for the safety of those community members, not to put them in danger.
Remember that we are standing up on Wednesday to send a message to the president: it’s time for him to realize he works for the American people – ALL the American people. We the People do not want campaign rallies; we want human rights, affordable healthcare, and real tax reform that benefits working Americans. We deserve a president who will unequivocally denounce racism and domestic terrorism; who does not try to ban patriots from serving in our armed forces; who understands that no human being is illegal; who responds swiftly and with compassion to natural disasters. After the passage of SB 43 and HCB 3, the people of Missouri need leaders who will protect our civil rights and our abilities to make a living and care for families. We the people reject the anti-worker, anti-family, un-American policies of the Trump and Greitens administrations. We will not be divided and we will not be silenced.
